How do you use technology to broadcast events (communicate) in your life? How is this similar to events that happen in a computer program or video game?

I use technology to broadcast events in my life by telling myself what to do and how to handle certain things. Technology that I use is my cellphone, laptop, mp3 play etc. . . This is similar to events that happen in a computer program or video game because we, the people must tell the program what to do and how to do it.
