Yes, I think cell phones will replace wallets because of the huge impact of communication technology has become. I'm sure that's going to work because the author says that it will be able to make payments at a cash register, scan computer chips inside ads and posters for discounts and product info, and eventually incorporate driver's licenses and other forms of ID. So that means they won't be no need for wallets anymore because wallets were created to hold money, but the phone is going to be able to make payments. It's also created to hold IDs and drivers licenses, but the phone is going to be able to do that to. It's just like the digital wallet.
Near-field communication technology is so important because the phone is going to be able to call, text, get a coupon and be a digital wallet, which is going to be cool. I can't wait for it to come out, I'm sure it's going to replace wallets. Plus you can lose stuff in your wallet but as for the digital wallet there's no losing anything except your no good for nothing wallet. NFC will enable people to use their cellphones to scan something they want to buy, get a coupon for it and you just bring it to the NFC register for the discount.
The disadvantages about the NFC technology is that if you lose your cell phone someone can use your pone and buy stuff off your credit or debit card. But then there's a good side to it, you don't need a wallet anymore and it gives a coupon if there is on your phone for you to use. I think there are going to be a lot of people that are going to love this new technology but then there's those people that always look on the bad side of thing and don't appreciate it.
